The Day of the Dead celebrations 2020 cancelled
Puerto Vallarta has a tradition of parades and huge celebrations during the days of the dead but this year, 2020, the government is cancelling this public event. The Day of the Dead is celebrated from October 31 to November 2nd. The cemeteries will be closed and access to the Malecon will be filtered by Civil Protection staff. All this to slow the spread of Covid.
The city officials are encouraging people to celebrate at home. It has been a difficult year for Puerto Vallarta and the world so we can only embrace the hope that next year will be better for both businesses and families.
I believe the people who live in Puerto Vallarta will find ways to celebrate, just not on the Malecon.
