Restaurants in Puerto Vallarta
There are many restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, fine dining, casual, patio, family, some with live music, so which ones do you think are the top ten? First, before I start to tell you why I love the top ten restaurants in this article, I want to say they will never replace the love and feeling of a home cooked meal. (Photo title: my mom's cooking)
I will also tell you that I have personally been to these great restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. Sometimes it it the location, the food, the company I am with, and the music of a live band that draws me to them. So this is more than just a blog, it is my food tour.
As a tourist, I have been to Puerto Vallarta every year for the last 8 years. I have visited many restaurants and the following recommendations for great restaurants are in no specific order.
#1. I am a person who loves to hunt for a special - deals - where can I eat that offers a promotion? I brought my father to Las Adelitas for their 2 for 1 rib deal and we were instant loyal customers. Loved the ribs and of course, my dad's smile.
#2. La Langosta Feliz (Happy Lobster) Honestly went to La Langosta Feliz to treat my date to lobster but she saw King Crab on the menu, the lobster would have to be enjoyed on our next visit. King crab was super. Great food, great seafood selection.
#3 El Rio BBQ The combination of outdoor patio, live music, friendly staff, stunning location by the mountains, and great food makes this one of the top ten places to eat in Puerto Vallarta. See video at bottom of the owner (Kirk) singing.
#4 Layla's Restaurant. Located in centro, Layla's restaurant is a hidden gem. I walked by several times without appreciating the beauty and menu of this restaurant. Multiple floors of dining area, a terrace, and great reviews. Definitely a top ten restaurant in Puerto Vallarta.
#5 Trattoria Di Nuovo is another hidden gem. As a pasta lover, this Italian restaurant is a place where you get first class service and a romantic setting to set the mood. You must check out their private patio. 5 stars!
#6 La Posta. Italian food is one of my favorites. La Posta is located on the Malecón and has a relaxing atmosphere, and some great Italian dishes including the pizza and lasagna.
#7 Di Vino Dante is an art lover's perfect place to eat. It is truly one of the best artistic experiences in Vallarta. A wine bar that is rich in history and surrounded by art created by the finest Artists in Mexico.
#8 Top Sky Bar. The Top Sky bar is not really known for it's food however with its entertainment schedule and impressive panoramic view, it is a top ten place to eat and enjoy a hot tub.
# 9 Nacho Daddy's. With a combination of Mex-Tex cuisine, sports bar and house of Blues type of music, Nacho Daddy is a great place to eat in Old town (Romantic Zone). They have giant TVs and a top choice for watching a sports match.
#10 Blake's restaurant - Maybe you have to be a Canadian to appreciate a bar - restaurant that watches Canadian Sports on their TVs, and celebrates Canadian holidays like Thanksgiving with turkey dinners. Maybe you have to be a music lover to feel the energy of a live band playing. Whatever it is, Blake's is a top ten restaurant for me.
